The King’s Award for Enterprise

The King’s Award for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious business awards, presented annually to exceptional businesses across the country who have proved outstanding in their field.

Previous corporate winners have come from a diverse selection of business sectors and have included large and small businesses. The award is held for five years, after which companies can reapply. Winners are announced on 6 May each year, the anniversary of the King's Coronation.

Awards can be won in 4 categories:

  • Innovation
  • International Trade
  • Sustainable Development
  • Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility

If your business is successful in winning the award, you'll reap a number of benefits, including:

  • invitation to a Royal reception, which provides a great opportunity to network with similarly elite businesses from across the country and make connections that will benefit your business
  • ability to fly The King’s Awards flag at your main office, and use the emblem on your marketing materials (for example, on your packaging, advertisements, stationery and website)
  • given a Grant of Appointment (an official certificate) and a commemorative crystal trophy
  • presented with the award at your premises by the Lord-Lieutenant, providing a great opportunity not only to boost staff morale, but also to gain press coverage and celebrate together with partner local authorities, planners, supply chain and other stakeholders

Businesses must submit an application to be considered for the award. Almost all UK businesses (including non-profit) can apply, and the application process is free.
